Quality grading schemes
A correct grading of your Christmas trees ensures that your product is matching the end customers‘ preferences and that you are in a stronger position to negotiate price with your customers (wholesalers or others). The CTGCE has prepared some quality grading schemes for Nordmann fir Christmas trees (A/B quality) and for all species (First Quality, Second Quality and Unclassified) trees.
All things being equal, the use of more quality classes results in more precisely defined products. However, this also entails higher costs for labelling, harvesting and palletising.
Classification guidelines (1996) for all species in 3 grading classes (first, second quality and unclassified) Classification guidelines (2002) for Nordmann fir in 2 grading classes (A and B quality)
